Dinner, Dinner, Dinner!

A friend of mine recently spent $50 for the WHOLE WEEK for groceries. I thought that was AMAZING! What did she do differently than most? She planned out dinner for every night during the week, and bought only what she needed for the various meals, plus some yummy snacks here and there. ;-)

It got me thinking...we could do that! And then that would get rid of the daily issue of figuring out what we want for dinner every single night. It would already be planned for us! And maybe, just maybe, we'd save a little money in doing so.

What do you all think? Who else plans their weekly meals out a week or two ahead of time and in turn, saves money on their grocery bill? Share your experiences with me. :-)

well, I dont know if this is how I comment on this thing, cause my friend just told me a while ago that I should start a blog on here, so I dont really know how to use it, but whatever lol another thing you could do too is use coupons...my mom will save up coupons for like a month for various things, just about everything you could imagine you would need lol but mostly stuff that lasts a while, and then she goes and buys a ton of stuff. one time I think she bought like $500 worth of groceries and it only cost her about $200 and the car was PACKED. but we didnt have to go shopping for another month or two lol granted that's a little dramatic, but I like to take coupons I've collected over the week, esp. on diapers! and go grocery shopping with them. i guess you can call me cheap lol but planning meals like you said and saving money on them can really make a lot of difference. and it helps to know what aisle things are in...like if you know what things are usually staples on your grocery list, you can go in and write down what aisle they are in so next time you can go through the aisles as you go instead of having to go from one end of the store to the other...I found it def. saves time, but you probably already do that lol

Oh yeah, we know our stores. It's just that we get groceries, and then as each night comes along, we end up not taking stuff out for dinner or going to the store for what we really want or something silly because we can't decide what we want, so then we end up spending more money. And we use coupons, but only for diapers, wipes, baby food...not regular food, the food is sooo cheap here without coupons lol But thanks for the comment!!

Bulk shopping can help too sometimes...like with snacks and stuff lol when me and my sister were little we used to take snacks with us to school, or even on weekends we loved our crackers and stuff, and costco is awesome for that stuff!! as long as it gets eaten in time anyways lol my mom mostly uses coupons there and wal mart, and sometimes price chopper cause if you get a register with teenage boys they'll double the coupons just cause they dont care

We don't go to Costco. We don't have a membership, and even if we did, we would never go enough to really use it, ya know? I hate their diapers, and I hate Huggies diapers, and they don't see Pampers, and that would really be the only thing worth going for haha

yeah I know what you mean, it's kinda of a long drive to make lol thats why my mom only goes sometimes when we're down there...and I HATE huggies too!! They suck so bad! I LOVE pampers, especially since they have the wet strip indicator thing. With huggies, we have to go one size more than he should be to get them to work even near as decsent as the pampers. the huggies with the poop thing in the back arent bad, but we got him some that have pooh on them and they SUCK. parents choise wipes suck really bad too.

Yeah, we loved that about Pampers Swaddlers. The cruisers don't have the line that tells you when they are wet, but they are soooo soft and thick and nice, Huggies Sensitive wipes and Soft Skin wipes are good, but I just started using Pampers baby fresh wipes and I love them. The pampers sensitive wipes SUCK. lol

ill have to remember that next time I go lol we've been using rite aid brand cause thats what we got at the baby shower lol those and some huggies. suprisingly the rite aid ones are pretty good. they actually come out one after the other. the parents choice ones are gay you have to open the box and keep reaching in for them. i'm going to wal mart tho next time. do u know which are cheaper there that still work good? lol
