Mohawk Home Rugs Review & Giveaway

We recently moved into a new apartment a few months ago, and are finally going to stay put where we are for quite a few years. With that said, I am all into decorating and making this house a home, since we will be here for a while. I am always looking for home decorating products and other useful home products to make our house feel more like home, and be warm and welcoming to us and guests. I came across Mohawk Home just in time!

"Mohawk Industries is one of the foremost manufacturers and distributors of residential and commercial flooring in the world. We enjoy leading market positions across multiple flooring categories, including carpet, ceramic tile, stone, wood and rugs in the United States and laminate in the U.S. and Europe. Mohawk dates its roots to the 1800's when it became one of the first American carpet manufacturers. Today the company is headquartered in Calhoun, Georgia with operations on three continents."

I was SO excited to receive a new area rug for our new apartment! We have this unattractive, thin green rug in our living room, which is the first room everyone sees as they enter our home:

I wanted the biggest rug I could find to cover up this ugly green thing referred to as "carpet"....if you can even really call it that! I also wanted something to kind of match our couch color, and I loooove polka dot designs. (As if you couldn't tell by my blog design!) After much searching, I finally chose the Mohawk Home 5'3" by 7'10" Multicolor Select Kaleidoscope Area Rug.

The measurements seemed big enough for what I wanted, to cover the majority of my living room floor, and the pattern grabbed my attention right away. The colors also drew me in, as they matched our living room couch. However, I was still skeptical while waiting for the rug to arrive. I wasn't sure how it would look in our home, and if it would look "out of place" with the rest of the apartment or how much of the original rug you would be able to see after this one was laid down. I just didn't want it to look silly or strange.

I received the rug very quickly (excellent customer service and shipping!) and hubs got to measuring right away, and got the rug laid down as soon as possible so we could check it out.

I was in LOVE when we finally got it down and everything situated and organized around it. Connor and Merasia wasted no time in testing it out themselves...

I absolutely, positively LOOOOVE this rug!! It definitely exceeded my expectations, and we are all sooo happy with it! It's nice and fluffy, so it's great to walk on and it really brightens up our home. It's clean and bright, so it's warm and welcoming, and with Mason always out in the living room playing and crawling around, it makes for a nice, thick surface for him to play on and if he falls down and bumps his head, there's some added cushion in the thickness of this rug, as opposed to the thin, scratchy original rug.

We have gotten many compliments on this rug since getting it, and since we live in an apartment and can't make permanent changes to anything, this is a great alternative since it's not nailed or staples down to the flooring at all, it can easily be removed to a different room or whenever the time comes for us to move out, it can just be rolled up and taken with us.

Overall, I am very, very happy with this choice, and will definitely be recommending and turning to Mohawk Home for my and my friends and families future needs.

Purchase it: Mohawk home rugs like the one featured here and many others can be purchased at a variety of locations, such as Home Depot, Kohl's, Lowe's, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Anna's Linens, Sears, Menards, and Walmart.

Crazy Dog Tee and Nacho Mama Tees Review

I love new clothes, and I especially love cute or funny designs or phrases on my clothes. Hubs is the same way.

I worked with Crazy Dog t-shirts/Nacho Mama t-shirts a while ago on a blog review, and had the pleasure of working with them again. My first experience was great, so I expected nothing but the best a second time around.

Crazy Dog t-shirts has a variety of shirts, for men, women, and children. They pride themselves on having "something for everyone" and that is definitely the true case. They have a large variety of funny t-shirts, as well as t shirts coinciding with current holidays, such as the selection of Christmas t shirts they recently offered, and the selection of Saint Patrick's Day themed t shirts. I especially love the t shirts centered around the movie "The Hangover." LOVE that movie and I LOVE that Crazy Dog and Nacho Mama t shirts has t shirts geared toward it.

From Crazy Dog's website:

"Crazy Dog's rapidly expanding base includes our funny t shirts, custom apparel, costumes and crazy gadgets. They have helped us grow into what we are today from supplying us with funny quotes on facebook or sending us cool designs. They are the heart of the site and we will always be dedicated to supplying new and creative works to keep our audience entertained."

From Nacho Mama's website:

"At Nacho Mama Tees our crazy developers have come up with the best mens apparel online! See what you are missing and catch all the novelty designs and the one stop funny t shirt shop! Original and funny t shirts that turn heads! Check out the discounted hilarious and offensive stuff. From cool t shirts Nacho Mama Tees is your premier online outlet for your viewing pleasure. Coming for our 80s tees and great graphic designs. The life blood of our site is the customer and anyone comments good or bad we take to heart. We go through classic 80's movies turn them into vintage apparel that will instantly become your favorite tee!"

For my review, I received the squirrel ADD t shirt which can be found in the funny t shirt section of Crazy Dog's website. I also received the "the man, the legend" t-shirt which can also be found in the funny t shirt section of Nacho Mama's website.

I thought the squirrel shirt was funny, and my friends and even Frank have picked on me numerous time and jokingly said I have ADD, simply because I like to talk, and change subjects frequently during one single conversation...LOL But I think that's just a girl thing! Unfortunately, the size I got is a little small, so it's definitely a shirt for bedtime or lounging around the house.

I decided to wait to give Frank his shirt until Christmas. I thought if fit him well, with his sense of humor. He's definitely got the typical sometimes perverted sense of humor that I believe all men I knew he'd get a big laugh out of this shirt. And I was right! He loved it though and wore it that same day.

Both shirts are of great quality, and very soft and not scratchy like some t shirt's can be.

Though I hit a few customer service snags in the process of getting the t shirts for the review, all issues were resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner, so I walked away happy from the experience a second time around.

If you're looking for that perfect birthday gift for someone in your life, or just need a chuckle, Crazy Dog and Nacho Mama t shirts are definitely the place to turn. And the prices are all very reasonable too.

**DISCLAIMER** I received the above product(s) from Crazy Dog t shirts and Nacho Mama t shirts free of charge in exchange for an honest review. No other compensation was received. However, all opinions are strictly my own.

3rd Birthday Photos - Sneak Peek!

We recently had some 3rd birthday photos done. They should be all done any day now, but in the meantime, here is a sneak peek....

P.S. TWO of the items in these pictures are upcoming reviews and giveaways!! Stay tuuuuuuned! :-)

Christmas 2011! (LOADS of photos!!)

It's 4 days past Christmas, and I have yet to update on our festivities! So, here goes.....

Our Christmas events started on the day before Christmas day. We had my in laws over to exchange gifts. I bake every year, and that's what we give as gifts, along with some new pictures of the kiddos, so that was our gifts to them. Hubs got a new pair of pants, a new nice electric razor, and a shirt. I got a couple cute new shirts, a bath set with shower gel and lotion, and a new cute scarf. The kiddos made out, as usual! Connor got 3 nice new dress shirts, another new everyday shirt, a new pair of Cars pajamas, a big container of small matchbox cars (that he LOVES, I might add), a remote controlled truck, and a Cars comforter. Merasia got a Tinker Bell comforter (it even lights up!),  new pair of pants, Tinker Bell pajamas, a sweatshirt, another different sweatshirt with matching capri pants, a new baby doll that she can take in the bath tub with her complete with a rubber duckie that lights up when it is on water and other smaller accessories, and another different baby doll that giggles and cries. They also got a set of small Elmo box books to share, which they also love. Mason scored with a little work bench toy that lights up and plays music and talks, a little train that lights up and plays different songs, two new shirts, and monkey pajamas. And that was just from their auntie and grandma! Here are some photos from the kids opening those presents:

On Christmas Eve, we went to my sister's house and celebrated with my 3 older sisters and their significant others, our dad, and all my nieces and nephews. Frank got a winter hat, mittens, and scarf, and I got a beautiful bathrobe from my father, and we got some baked goodies as well. Connor and Merasia got crayons and a Cars and Princess coloring roll of paper, new pajamas, and each also got a Magna Doodle type toy that also came with a smaller magna doodle for car rides. They LOVE these toys!! Mason got a block sorter giraffe toy, new pajamas, and some blocks that stack inside of each other. He loooves these toys too! Here are some pictures from our celebration with my family:

Finally, it was the day hubs and I had been waiting months for....Christmas!! We got the kiddos to bed Christmas Eve night, wrapped some last minute presents, and then waited for Santa to arrive. ;-)

It's hard to see all of the gifts in the above pictures, but trust me, there were way more than it appears! ;-)

We woke up bright and early Christmas morning, excited to see the kids reactions to their gifts, especially the bikes!

Okay, so.....not exactly what we were expecting, but it was 5:30 in the morning, and they were trying to wake up and adjust to the bright light and what was happening. LOL

Once they woke up a little more and realized what was happening, they were excited and oh-so-happy with their gifts!

The insisted on opening the rest of their gifts with their helmets on....

I won't take the time to list every single thing Santa brought them, because there is just far too much to list. You can see some of the things in the photos above, though. :-)

Mason had a great first Christmas as well. It started Christmas Eve, when he gave me the present of sleeping through the night for the first time in MONTHS! And, in his own room. :-) And then, he sat up on Christmas morning, to open presents. He has not officially sat up yet, but it's only because he has no interest and is always on the move, creeping around and standing. But while opening gifts, he sat himself up!

He had a blast checking out the Christmas tree and opening his presents and playing with his new toys! And later that night, he said "mama" for the very first time!! :-)

All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas, and one of the best parts was there was not big, annoying toys to put together! ;-) Of course the very best part was seeing the children opening each present and their excitement with each new item. Merasia would yell "Mama!! LOOOOOK!" every time she opened a new gift. Then, she'd throw it to the side and reach for another gift, saying "Please?" It was so adorable and so fun to see her excitement. She especially loved her "Baby Alive"...........

Connor's favorite gifts are definitely his cars and trucks, especially his big "Chuck the Truck" dump truck....

My favorite gift was the gift of being together as a family, and enjoying our children and the holiday through their eyes. It was such a special, memorable Christmas this year, and I am so, so happy.

Now, on to the New Year and a 3rd birthday party!
