Summer Fun!

The twins are at such a fun age this summer, that we have made a huge effort to pack this summer with more fun than past summers, since they are old enough to do more this year. We went to the beach as a family quite a few weeks ago, but it was later in the evening and spur of the moment, and the water wasn't very warm, so it was kind of a bust. I was invited by a friend of mine to go to a different beach with her and her 2 year old son and 8 month old son. It was a beach I had never been to before but not too far away from home. I had never hung out with this friend before, we had just met a few times at the same baby and toddler play group we go to a couple times a month. So I was nervous about going, especially since it would be the first BIG outing for me on my own without the hubs, with all 3 kiddos. I decided to go though, and am SO glad I did! We had a complete BLAST! We got up bright and early and packed and got ready to go. We set out and met our friends there and I got the twins undressed and ready to go in the water. Merasia is a total fish and loves the water! She soaked it up. Connor played on the shore with our friend's son, dipping a little in the water off and on, more than he had before, so that was good. I dipped in the water while Mason napped and it was fabulous! The water was warm but not too warm where you didn't get cooled off in the hot sun. After swimming for a bit, we all got out of the water and had a picnic lunch at the beach...peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, goldfish, crackers, and fresh fruit was on the menu. After eating and playing for a bit on the slide and swings, the kiddos headed back in the water for a while. I was in and out of the water with Mason, in between nursing. We packed it up later that afternoon to head home. The kids and myself were exhausted but I would do it all again in a heart beat because it was so. much. FUN! And I have to say, I am proud of myself for venturing out without the hubs, especially to the beach, with all 3 kiddos. ;-)

Here are some pics from the day...
