7 Months Old!

My little monkey boy turned 7 months old yesterday!

Mason weighs between 18-19 pounds (he hasn't been weighed in about a month so it's somewhere in that range!), and is about 29 inches! He's a tall boy! He has so much personality, it's incredible. For the most part, he is a happy, smily baby. People always tell me that.

He eats solids usually 3 meals a day, still on the pureed stuff. When he first started on that, he didn't care for it. It took him a while to warm up to it, but now, he LOVES it and is not very picky. It's the real food he isn't crazy about. Our pediatrician gave us the okay to ground up red meats and potatoes, etc. to give to him, but he is not into that at all. That's okay though. With my crazy schedule, the twins, and all, most of the time it's easier to just give him the purred jarred food he loves. The twins never actually started eating everything we ate until a little over a year, so I'm not concerned about it.

A couple months ago, he did try to frozen real banana chunks in his mesh feeder, and seemed to REALLY enjoy that, but I hated the mesh feeder and how difficult it is to clean and threw it out.

Mason is creeping/cruising/crawling EVERYWHERE! He is into EVERYTHING. The twins were never this mobile this quickly, so I am finding it's quite a challenge now, especially since the twins are still so young and if they have a snack or something and leave food on the floor or small toys, I always have to be on the lookout so Mason doesn't get a hold of something and choke, because as soon as he sees something, he goes for it! He's already had half of a chocolate chip with m & m cookie...oops! ;-)

He still doesn't sleep through the night, but I'm okay with that. Merasia never slept through the night, every night, until she was about 2, and even now, she still has nights where we wakes up for whatever reason and needs to be tucked back into bed and soothed with a kiss and a hug. So, I'm used to waking up, and these moments go so fast, that I don't mind the extra snuggle time in the middle of the night.

He did give me a good night of rest the other night though, and only woke up once. :-)

Though his night time sleep isn't great, he always wakes up with a smile on his face, or we hear him talking in his crib. He talks to himself and plays until one of us gets up to get him. He's happy playing with his toys, eating, or watching his brother and sister play. Sometimes he watches them play for several minutes, and even cracks up laughing at them. It's the cutest thing!

Of course, they love him immensely! Connor is always talking to him and playing on the floor with him, Merasia reads him stories and gives him toys and always asks to help feed him or change his diaper, and both are always asking to hold him or giving him kisses and hugs.

Mason goes to daycare two days a week, because I have class and other school work to get done. His "teachers" at daycare are always commenting on how smiley and happy and content he is, so we must be doing something right!

I can't believe how much he has grown in 7 short months!
