I Love Fall...

I love fall. My favorite season is summer, if I had to choose a fave. But I do love fall too. I of course love winter too for the fact of Christmas, my birthday, hubby's birthday, and all 3 of our children's birthdays are during that season. But there is just something about waking up in the fall mornings with dew glistening on the grass outside, the sun peeking out over the horizon, and the chilly, crisp air.

The twins' first fall, they were 9 months old, so we didn't do much. I don't even think we bothered getting pumpkins. Of course they dressed up for Halloween, but that was about it for fall. Last year, we got pumpkins, and let the twins dig in and get dirty with pumpkin seeds and pumpkin goo! They LOVED it, and we loved watching them love it. This year, a friend of mine and myself took our kids (her 3 year old daughter, and my 3 little ones) to a farm a little ways away from where we live. They have a whole farm with tractors, corn fields, plants, and every season, strawberries, blueberries, and pumpkins, of course! They also have special events going on throughout the season, hay rides, a corn maze, and a petting zoo. It was our first time going, and we had a blast! We forgot the stroller though, so we took turns carrying Mason around. It was a gorgeous Fall day, with temps in the 80's!

We tried to get a good picture of all 3 big kids in front of the huge pumpkin at the entrance to the farm, but it didn't work so well. This is the best we got....

When we first arrived, an older woman was leaving and she stopped us to give us some tickets. She had 3 extra tickets, good for a pony ride or a few minutes in the bounce house, and she was leaving and had no use for them, so she gave them to us. It was so sweet of her! We walked around for a bit, and the kids enjoyed petting and feeding the goats.

This guy was HUGE....and slightly intimidating...

The kids loved him though! After we saw the animals, we decided to head towards the bounce house so the kids could jump around and play. It was the twins first time ever in a bounce house, and they LOOOVED IT!

Mason enjoyed watching from the sidelines...hehehe!

After the kids played in the bounce house, we let them play on the slides and "tractor" and little playground that was at the farm.

Finally, it was time for the main reason we went here...PUMPKINS!! We loaded up on the hay ride, and the tractor took us around the corn field and through the woods to the pumpkin patch...

It was so much fun when we finally got to the pumpkin patch. There were pumpkins everywhere and it was to fun walking through and trying to find the "perfect pumpkin." Connor found his right away...

After about 20ish minutes of walking around and trying to find our pumpkins, we were ready to go. We loaded back up on the hay ride and headed back to the farm. And then reality hit us...we were 2 women...petite women...with 4 ids, 3 of which were very mobile and lacked listening skills that day, and one baby, whom had to be carried by someone the entire time...and then we had 2 HUGE pumpkins....

We took turns carrying Mason in one arm and a pumpkin in the other..........

Luckily, I ran into another friend of mine who was there with her husband and their 4 little ones, and her husband saved us and carried our pumpkins to the van for us. Thanks Steve!! ;-)

After we got the pumpkins to the van, we were all starving and exhausted. We grabbed a bite to eat, and then loaded up and headed home. It was a long, exhausting day, but oh so fun! We'll definitely be making a tradition of this for many years to come!

I Love Fall!
