We've Survived TWO Years!

We have survived TWO YEARS with TWINS! I cannot believe it has been TWO years already! It has been a whirlwind two years, full of highs and lows, but the highs definitely outweigh the lows. :-)

We had a small birthday celebration planned for Connor and Merasia. At first, the theme was going to be "Two Peas in a Pod" since there is two of them and they were turning two. But, silly procrastinating mommy that I am, there wasn't enough time to order the decorations and have them get here in time, and of course NO party store in Vermont had anything for that theme. So we had to take a last minute trip to Walmart and try to find two themes (one for each of them), or a neutral theme. We decided on Toy Story and Princess. We got all the items we needed for decorating and serving food, etc. The next day, the day before their birthday, we met our friends Jenn and Terry and their 1 year old daughter Cloey, at the place where we were having the party. We got the place at a lower rate than most, because we offered to clean up after an event from that night. So Jenn and I cleaned while the guys watched all the kiddos. After the cleaning was done, we set out to decorate. It took a few hours in all, but by the time we were done, it looked great. :-) We then decided to spend the night at our friend's house, since hubs had to work the next day, and he works an hour from home. With one vehicle, he'd need to get done work at 3:30, make it home by 4:30, and then we'd have to rush down to the party before people arrived at 5...it just would not have worked well. So hubs went to work the next day (I dropped him off), Jenn and I took care of the kiddos, made Connor and Merasia's birthday t shirts, made and decorated cupcakes, went to the grocery store to get the food and extra cake, and went to the party to set up the last minute things and food and such. Her husband works with my husband, so they met at work and drove to the party together afterwards, which worked out well.

Though we had a smaller turnout for the party than expected, it was still nice and low key. The kids were absolutely adorable the whole evening. Because they got so many toys at Christmas, we requested that they get clothing or other more useful items for their birthday, instead of even more toys. :-) Jenn and Terry got them new sneakers for then the snow and mud is finally gone...they got them the night before the party though, so they could wear them during the party. They are adorable and the kids love them! They got adorable outfits from both my moms (birth and adopted), their aunt Crystal, and their great great grandparents. They also got a toy box and toy storage bins from my birth mom, which will be very useful for their billion toys. :-)

We had pizza, veggies, chips and dip, punch, and other snacks to eat, and of course cake and cupcakes! Merasia wasn't into the cupcake much, but she was probably full from dinner still. Connor thoroughly enjoyed his cupcake though!

All in all, it was a great 2nd birthday celebration for them, even if some of it was last minute and there was a huge snowstorm, and not many people came. ;-)

Our camera is broken, but Jenn took some great photos for us, so here are some of those for your viewing pleasure. :-)

Baby Mason!

It's hard to believe baby Mason will be joining our family so soon. I am 33 weeks pregnant now, and counting down the days and weeks until we finally meet him! I am feeling good, physically. Just exhausted from not sleeping well (mostly due to Merasia not sleeping well!), but other than that, I'm good. We had another ultrasound last week, and Mason is great! No spinal issues at all (we had that spina bifida scare at 16 weeks!), fluid levels are good, and he weighed in at 4 lbs.! Slightly above average for how far along I am. :-) He was hamming it up on the ultrasound too...opening and closing his mouth, sucking his thumb, and lifting his head as if he was trying to hear what we were talking about outside the belly! Oh, and he even has some fuzzy little hair! I can already tell he is such a cutie pie and can't wait to meet him in person!

We are slowly getting things ready for his arrival. Bags are getting packed for the hospital, the pack and play with the changing table attachment and newborn napper attachment is all set up in our room, looking all snuggly for Mason. Newborn and 0-3 month clothing is all washed, dried, and neatly put away, complete with itty bitty socks and hats. We have yet to get the "big" stuff...travel system, swing, bouncy seat, etc. but that will be here soon!

I can't believe that soon, we will grow from a family of 4 to a family of 5. It's mind boggling that we're going to have THREE children soon! I absolutely cannot wait to have a little guy around again, and to see how the twins interact with him.

I'll be sure to keep you all posted when Mason makes his grand debut!
