He is just an absolute joy!! He is starting to be awake for longer periods during the day, and I just love staring and gazing at him when he's content and just looking around at every one and every thing with his big, beautiful blue eyes. He is starting to make small cooing noises and it melts my heart every single time. The other day he was sitting in his bouncer while I got dinner ready, and he was completely content. I walked over to just check on him and give him a kiss, and he gave me the biggest smile ever! I could have cried. :-)
He still wakes up quite a bit at night, but that's to be expected and I even cherish those moments too. Although, he has started going some longer stretches at night. The past few nights I have gotten a solid 2 or 3ish hours of sleep before he wakes to nurse, and then he usually goes back to sleep for another 2 or 3 solid hours before he's up to nurse again and sometimes up for the day at 6, but that's fine with me. It's amazing how a few solid, uninterrupted hours of sleep can make you feel! Mason went to sleep at 9:30 the other night, I went to sleep at 10:30, and he never woke until 1:30...and I felt like a new woman! I felt like I could have gotten up for the entire day at 1:30 in the morning and been perfectly functioning! Of course I didn't do that and I went back to bed as soon as Mason was fed and changed and back to sleep. ;-)
It's amazing to watch Mason learn and grow and to see how he begins to interact with his older sister and brother, who still love to smother him with hugs and kisses multiple times a day. I wish I could freeze these sweet moments in time. ♥ ♥ ♥
