Three Tips on How to Gain New Followers

So often I have friends coming to me, looking to start their own blog, and the main question they are wondering if how to gain more followers. I am far from an expert on this, as I too am often wondering how I can gain more followers for my own blog! But I have discovered some useful tips in doing this through the years, all on my own or from the advice of others.

1. Join Mommy Blogger websites/forums.

Joining a mommy blogger website or forum can be so helpful because you can find other blogs of interest to you for you to follow, meet new people and make new friends, and promote your own blog. I have gained a lot of new followers by simply joining up on some of these websites, forums, or Facebook groups and sharing the link to my blog! Fellow bloggers are always looking for new content to follow, new recipes, new giveaways, and so on and your blog just may be what they are looking for! Some websites I have found helpful include Mom Blog Society, Top Mommy Blogs, and  Mommy Blogger SEO.

2. Pinterest

Pinterest is a HUGE social networking tool! I have learned to pin almost everything I post on my blog, because people using Pinterest find it when searching for a variety of things, and some of my stuff pops up in their search results, making them check it out, find my blog, and thus, follow it! When I post a new recipe, I take good quality photos and then pin them to my Pinterest. I do the same thing with a new review or giveaway too. A good chunk of gaining new followers is basically promoting yourself out anywhere and everywhere!

3. I recently started putting the link to my blog in the signature line of my personal email. This way, every time I send an email to someone new or even regular friends and family, they see my link in the signature, get curious, and check it out. If it's something they are interested in or something catches their eye, they continue to follow! 

It really can be as simple as these few tips. Of course there are many more tips on how to gain new followers, but these are some of the top ones that have worked well for me.
