"Out and About at the Zoo" Book Review

I don't normally go book reviews, but I had some recent requests for some, so I figured, why not right? This time, I was asked to review a children's book, so that was exciting to share it with my children.

I was asked to review "Out and About at the Zoo" by Jo Linsdell

Connor and Merasia LOVE animals, and especially have been getting into zoo animals lately. One thing we look forward to doing next summer is taking them to a zoo, so this was the perfect time to review this book and show it to them.

The illustrations are big, bright, and bold, and are so child friendly! I am trying to figure out how I can share the book here or at least some of the images from it, but I can't figure it out yet. Once I do, I will be sure to share though!

The writing of the book itself rhymes, and I love books like that! It makes them easy to read and fun to read too, and the kids greatly enjoy it. It's short and sweet, yet has just enough details and there is just enough story to make it a good read. It's the perfect book to read before bedtime if you are in a hurry as well. I love reading to the kids, but sometimes I am not in the mood for long books, so shorter ones like this one are great to have, and they are still so much fun to read and look at.

Another thing I liked was the story line. The book is from the point of view of a child going to the zoo with his/her "mum." It goes through different animals at the zoo, which is good because it educates the children on the animals, the names of them, their colors, their habitat, etc., so the children are learning a lot while reading, which is exactly what we want!

I was very happy with this book, and most of all, the children loved it too!

Thank you for the amazing review Blake. I'm so glad the kids enjoyed it. If you drop by my website http://www.jolinsdell.com/id20.html you'll find some free activity packs that go with the book for the kids to do including printable masks so they can pretend to be the animals from the book.
